Pure Chardonnay from the oldest vines in Tassin (average age around 50 years) planted on the Kimmeridgian slopes of the Essoyes commune . Chardonnay lovers will be familiar with the word Kimmeridgian, as it is the same chalky soil that gives the finest Chablis wines their seductive and unmistakable flavor. In a region where Pinot Noir triumphs, Chardonnay d'Aube is a protected rarity. Despite its rarity, the vine has a documented 400-year history in Essoyes and produces sublime fruit.
