The NV Joseph Perrier Cuvée Royale Brut Nature comes from the family-run Joseph Perrier house, founded in 1825 and based in Châlons-en-Champagne, with estate vineyards in villages such as Cumières, Damery, Hautvillers, Verneuil, and Bassuet. The blend is about 62 percent Chardonnay, 24 percent Pinot Meunier, and 14 percent Pinot Noir, including around a quarter reserve wines, and it spends roughly six years on the lees with no dosage added. Aromas of rose and peony mingle with subtle spice, while the palate is lively and precise, offering flavors of crisp apple, pear, peach, and nectarine that lead to a bone-dry, lightly peppery finish. This Champagne is ideal as an aperitif and pairs beautifully with oysters, sashimi, and other delicate seafood dishes.
