2024 Sager & Verdier Sancerre

The 2024 Sager & Verdier Sancerre is a Sauvignon Blanc from the Loire Valley, made by the thoughtful team at Sager & Verdier who emphasize sustainable vineyard work and minimal-intervention winemaking to showcase the unique character of their soils. The grapes are grown on modest slopes of silex, limestone and clay around Sancerre with hand-care in the vineyard and careful whole-cluster pressing. The wine is fermented with native yeasts and sees a bit of lees contact to build texture while preserving bright fruit and freshness.

On the nose it offers lifted aromas of citrus zest, green apple, white peach and crushed flint or mineral notes.

The palate is crisp, lively and focused, with racy acidity, vibrant citrus and orchard fruit flavors, a stony mineral core, and a long, clean finish.
