Jean-Christophe Comor came to winemaking by way of politics — and has clearly never looked back. He named his estate Domaine les Terres Promises, "the promised land," and it's hard to argue with the sentiment: a 15-hectare organic vineyard perched 400 meters above sea level, 30 kilometers back from the Mediterranean, on ancient clay-limestone soils that have been yielding exceptional fruit since antiquity. La Chance is a blend of Grenache, Mourvèdre, and Cinsault — the classic Bandol trio — harvested by hand from a single parcel in Castellet, fermented with native yeasts, and aged in stainless steel to preserve every bit of freshness and precision. In the glass it's a beautiful salmon-pink, with strawberry, citrus, and a distinctive salty minerality that sets Bandol rosé apart from its Provençal neighbors. Equally at home as an aperitif on a warm evening or alongside a proper meal, this is a rosé with real substance — and enough structure to reward a few years of patience if you can manage it.
