The 2024 Angura Winery Asuretuli Shavi / Tavkeri / Saperavi is a small-production, natural red blend from the village of Asureti in Georgia’s Kartli region, crafted by a young family estate working organically on clay and basalt soils at moderate elevation. Made from indigenous grapes—primarily Asuretuli Shavi, Tavkeri, and Saperavi—the wine reflects a revival of rare local varieties and traditional methods, typically fermented with native yeasts, unfiltered, and with little to no added sulfur.

In the glass it shows a vibrant ruby color and opens with expressive aromas of wild berries, cherry, and floral notes, layered with subtle spice and earthy undertones. The palate is medium-bodied and energetic, combining fresh red and dark fruit with bright acidity, soft tannins, and a lightly savory, mineral edge, leading to a clean, slightly rustic finish. The blend balances the brightness and lift of Tavkeri, the aromatic wild character of Asuretuli Shavi, and the depth and structure of Saperavi, making it both playful and authentic.
