The 2023 Domaine du Pré Semelé Sancerre Mainbré is produced by the Raimbault family in the village of Maimbray within the Sancerre appellation. It is made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc grown on calcareous clay soils composed of Kimmeridgian marl and limestone.
The grapes are gently pressed, fermented with native yeasts, and aged on the lees for about eight to ten months in a combination of stainless steel and wood, with minimal intervention and no fining or filtration.
The wine shows aromas of citrus, white flowers, and subtle tropical fruit, leading to a crisp, mineral-driven palate with lively acidity and a long, pure finish.
It pairs beautifully with goat cheese, oysters, grilled white fish, or light vegetable dishes, and should be served around 10–12 °C.
