2023 Old World Winery 'L'Aureate' Orange

The 2023 Old World Winery “L’Aureate” is a skin-contact Chardonnay from Russian River Valley, crafted by Darek Trowbridge on old, organically farmed vines. The grapes are stomped whole-cluster and left on their skins for roughly 48 hours before spontaneous fermentation on native yeasts. The wine is aged for two years in neutral barrels, with no fining or filtration, producing a deeply hued amber color.

Aromas of pineapple, grapefruit, herbs, and a touch of yeast open up into a textured, layered palate with bright citrus acidity, honeyed richness, and a spicy, savory finish.

It pairs wonderfully with grilled seafood, coconut-curry dishes, sushi, or creamy lemon pasta—and is best enjoyed slightly chilled around 12–14 °C.
