The 2024 Meinklang Weisser Mulatschak is a biodynamic orange wine from Burgenland, Austria, made from a blend of Welschriesling (about 50 %), Pinot Gris (25 %), and Traminer (25 %). The grapes are macerated on the skins for roughly 5–7 days, then fermented spontaneously with native yeasts and aged for about four months on the fine lees in stainless steel.
The wine pours a delicate apricot-amber hue and offers floral aromas of chamomile, elderflower, and lily-of-the-valley, intertwined with ripe pear, apricot, and a subtle pickled apple note.
On the palate it is super precise, lively, and piquant, with bright acidity, a whisper of natural fizz, and a long, clean finish that emphasizes minerality and purity. At 11.5% ABV, it feels refreshing and delicate, making it a great match for light summer fare, goat cheese, fresh vegetables, or simply drinking on its own.
