2021 Domaine De La Monette Mercurey le Saut Muchiau

This wine is made by the estate Domaine de la Monette in the Côte Chalonnaise’s Mercurey appellation, from the Le Saut Muchiau parcel planted with old‑vine Pinot Noir. The vines lie on clay‑limestone soils and the farming follows organic practices.

The 2021 vintage shows a deep ruby colour and opens with aromas of ripe black cherry, dark plum, subtle vanilla oak and a hint of herb‑twist.

On the palate it offers a plush texture with rich fruit, fine but present tannins and a fresh mineral backbone that gives drive to the finish.

It pairs well with roast lamb, mushroom ragouts, perhaps a beef bourguignon or a nicely matured semi‑hard cheese, and is best served at about 15‑17 °C after some gentle aeration.
