2020 Château Les Tuileries — Lalande-de-Pomerol

A family estate cultivated across four generations in the Libournais, Château Les Tuileries tends three hectares of vines in Lalande-de-Pomerol with a commitment to farming without herbicides or synthetic inputs — cow manure from the property's own livestock returns vitality to soils that have been worked by the same family since the time of the French Revolution. The blend unites Merlot (95%) with a measure of Cabernet Sauvignon (5%), drawn from clay and gravel terroirs that neighbor the famed plateau of Pomerol.

The 2020 vintage delivered one of the finest expressions of the appellation in recent memory — warm, dry conditions produced deeply concentrated fruit with exceptional ripeness, while the clay-rich soils retained enough moisture to preserve freshness and energy throughout. The result is a wine of plush, perfumed character: dark plum, crushed blackberry, and notes of damp earth and cocoa powder give way to a palate that is at once rich and surprisingly supple. Tannins are polished and integrative, the finish carrying a trace of iron-edged minerality that is the signature of this corner of the Right Bank.
