The 2019 Stroppiana “Vigna San Giacomo” Barolo DOCG is a traditional, terroir-driven Nebbiolo from the La Morra subzone, sourced from east-facing vineyards planted on clay-limestone soils at around 400 meters, and aged in a combination of tonneaux and large oak casks to balance structure with elegance.
It shows a classic garnet-tinged ruby color and opens with an intense, refined nose of red cherry, dried rose, forest floor, tobacco, and sweet spice. On the palate it is dry, warm, and enveloping, with firm yet polished tannins, lively acidity, and a layered core of red fruit, earthy undertones, and subtle savory notes, finishing long with a velvety texture and lingering spice.
The 2019 vintage, known for its balance and classic profile, gives the wine both immediate charm and strong aging potential, making it an excellent pairing for braised meats, game, truffle dishes, and aged cheeses, ideally served with a decant to allow its complexity to fully open.
