The 2019 Château Redortier Gigondas is a vibrant and finely‑crafted red from the southern Rhône, grown on high‑altitude iron‑rich soils on the slopes of the Dentelles de Montmirail. The blend is roughly 70 % Grenache and 30 % Syrah, sourced from old vines planted in the 1950s and 1960s, vinified with destemmed fruit, wild yeast fermentation, and aged for 24 months in concrete vats.
On the nose, the wine displays ripe blackberries and blueberries, interwoven with wild herbs, garrigue, and a subtle smokiness.
The palate is medium to full‑bodied with polished tannins, lithe acidity, a saline mineral thread and a savoury finish that evokes blackberry, pepper and earth.
It is well‑balanced and elegant, and it pairs beautifully with grilled lamb, game birds, rich stews or aged cow‑milk cheeses.
