2018 Comte Senard Aloxe-Corton 1er Cru Les Valozieres

The 2018 Comte Senard Aloxe-Corton Premier Cru Les Valozières is produced by the historic family estate Domaine Comte Senard in the Côte de Beaune. Made from 100% Pinot Noir grown on limestone-rich slopes just below the Grand Cru vineyards of Corton, the wine reflects both power and finesse.

Farming is sustainable, and vinification follows traditional Burgundian methods, including gentle extraction and long aging in oak barrels, about half of which are new. The 2018 vintage offers aromas of ripe black cherry, dark plum, licorice, and subtle forest floor notes.

On the palate it is structured yet refined, with polished tannins, vibrant acidity, and a long, mineral-driven finish. It pairs beautifully with game birds, roast beef, mushroom dishes, or aged cheeses, and benefits from a short decanting if opened young.
