2018 Chateau Bellegrave, Pomerol

The 2018 Château Bellegrave, Pomerol is a polished and expressive Right Bank Bordeaux crafted predominantly from Merlot with a small proportion of Cabernet Franc, grown on the gravelly and clay-rich soils that give the estate its name.

The warm, generous 2018 vintage produced a wine of both richness and freshness, offering aromas of black cherry, plum, blackberry, violet, and cocoa, layered with hints of truffle, cedar, and sweet spice.

On the palate it is medium- to full-bodied, with a velvety texture, ripe tannins, and a harmonious balance between dark fruit concentration and lively acidity. Notes of cassis, mocha, and earthy minerality unfold across a long, elegant finish, showcasing the supple, seductive character for which Pomerol is renowned.

Approachable now with decanting yet capable of further development, it pairs beautifully with roast lamb, beef tenderloin, duck, wild mushrooms, and aged cheeses.
