The 2011 Domaine Mongeard-Mugneret Richebourg Grand Cru is an exceptional expression of Pinot Noir from one of Burgundy’s most revered vineyards in Vosne-Romanée. Sourced from old vines rooted in deep clay-limestone soils, the wine reflects both power and finesse, hallmarks of this legendary terroir.
Aged entirely in new French oak, it shows a deep ruby hue and an intricate bouquet of red and black cherries, violets, rose petals, exotic spices, and hints of forest floor and mineral earth.
On the palate, it is full-bodied and structured, with dense fruit, refined tannins, and a vibrant acidity that carries through a long, layered finish marked by notes of truffle, tobacco, and fine oak. This Richebourg combines intensity with elegance and will continue to evolve beautifully over the next decade or more.
It pairs perfectly with roast lamb, venison, or rich mushroom dishes, as well as aged cheeses, allowing its complexity and depth to fully unfold.
