This luxurious 3 L double‑magnum format from Maison Labouré‑Roi’s 1998 vintage of Puligny‑Montrachet offers a rare and majestic opportunity to experience white Burgundy at scale. Grown in the esteemed Côte de Beaune village of Puligny‑Montrachet, this Chardonnay‑based wine delivers refined aromas of green apple, white blossoms, chalky mineral and a touch of toasted hazelnut.
On the palate it is elegantly textured, combining vibrant acidity with a seamless, silky mid‑palate and a finish marked by saline minerality and lingering almond‑skin notes.
Given its age and bottle size advantage, it should show exceptional poise now and is best enjoyed with attentive service at around 11‑12 °C. Pairings might include buttery shellfish (think lobster or scallops in beurre blanc), roasted quail or organic chicken with a light cream sauce, or a fine selection of goat‑milk cheeses—all of which will highlight the wine’s finesse, balance and the hallmark minerality of Puligny‑Montrachet.
