The 1995 Tenuta Vitanza Brunello di Montalcino is a deeply intriguing and mature Sangiovese from Tuscany’s renowned Montalcino region. Exhibiting a rich garnet‑to‑brick hue, the wine opens with aromas of ripe plum, black cherry, cedar, tobacco and subtle spice, all supported by well‑integrated oak.
On the palate it remains compellingly balanced, offering medium to full body, refined tannins softened by age, vibrant underlying acidity and a long finish that echoes dried herbs, leather and underbrush.
Given its age, it is now very much in its mature phase and best enjoyed sooner rather than later. It pairs wonderfully with dishes such as braised lamb shank, slow‑roasted duck legs, wild boar ragù or a selection of aged pecorino or lamb‐milk cheeses that can stand up to the wine’s depth and evolution.
