The 2010 Baron Philippe de Rothschild Château d’Armailhac is a refined Pauillac Bordeaux from the historic Rothschild stable, blending predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot to express the gravelly terroir of the Left Bank.

With over a decade of bottle age, it typically shows a deep garnet color and complex aromas of cassis, dark cherry, cedar, graphite, violet and subtle spice, moving into savory notes of forest floor and tobacco.

On the palate it is medium- to full-bodied with polished, integrated tannins, bright acidity and a long, elegant finish that balances concentrated fruit with mineral depth and nuanced tertiary complexity.

This wine pairs beautifully with rich, savory fare such as herb-crusted lamb, roasted game, beef tenderloin with peppercorn sauce or aged hard cheeses, and its balanced structure allows it to continue developing additional depth with further cellaring.
