The Chianti Classico is essentially Sangiovese with just a little Canaiolo and it’s aged for two years in traditional large (30hl) oak casks. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv data-breakout=\"normal\"\u003e\n\u003cp id=\"viewer-b3adf656\" dir=\"auto\" class=\"Rc39c HhrTy Z7lok X7MWW\"\u003e\u003cspan class=\"vMus0\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eMeat and tomato ragù, pasta dishes and Italian sausages are obvious matches, but there are plenty of other possibilities: steak and stews such as \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cem style=\"font-style: italic;\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003epeposo\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e\u003cspan\u003e; pork belly and wild boar stews; \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cem style=\"font-style: italic;\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003epasta e fagioli\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e\u003cspan\u003e, pumpkin dishes, roast root vegetables and red peppers and, as long as it’s not too sharp, \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cem style=\"font-style: italic;\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003ecaponata\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e\u003cspan\u003e.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cem\u003eThe 20201Chianti Classico is a fabulous wine that overdelivers big time. Sumptuous, racy and inviting, the 2021 is lights-out. Dark blue-toned fruit, lavender, spice and a kick of licorice all meld together. Generous and deep, it would put many wines from more “important” appellations to shame. \u003c\/em\u003e-  93 points, Antonio Galloni\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cem\u003eA robust CC with aromas and flavors of red berries, red cherries, violets and oak spices. Medium- to full-bodied with a solid tannin framework and a long finish. The 15% alcohol adds weight to the mid-palate without disturbing the overall balance. The fruit remains bright throughout.
