2018 La Doucette ‘Baron de L’ Pouilly-Fumé, Loire Valley, FR

A world class Loire Sauvignon Blanc only made in the best years.

The most famous Pouilly Fume vineyards have been in the hands of the Comte Lafond and Ladoucette families since 1787 and this is the 'icon' wine of the estate. This Grande Cuvee is only made in the best years and from the first pressing of the estate's grapes matured on its lees for up to 6 months and the result is consistently one of the world's great Sauvignon Blancs. Expressive on the nose and crisp and refined on the palate. Plenty of citrus fruits with taught minerality and mouth-watering acidity, but done with great finesse, and a finish that keeps on going. This wine can age for decades. Drink young with seafood, the older and more complex try with white meats and richer dishes.

2018 L. Latour Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru, Burgundy, FR

"Corton-Charlemagne 2018 is a powerful, complex wine. Its nose is intense, with notes of white stone fruits such as white peach, fresh hazelnut, vanilla, and almond paste. The wine is full-bodied for the palate, and the vanilla is complemented by aromas of fresh almond and lime blossom. The experience ends with a very fine aromatic aftertaste that has subtle saline notes." - Winemaker notes

Maison Louis Latour is one of the most highly-respected négociant-éléveurs in Burgundy. Maison Louis Latour is the producer of some of the finest Burgundian wines but has also pioneered the production of fine wines from outside of the confines of Burgundy. These wines from the Ardèche and the Côteaux de Verdon are slowly gaining esteem for their unmatchable quality outside of Burgundy.

2017 Voskehat Winery ‘Karasi’ Voskehat, Armenia

The Voskehat Karasi is made with grapes from the Aragatsotn region, where the winery is based. The region has basalt, tuff, and limestone soils. The climate here is hot, dry and windy during the day. However, the altitude of around 1,100 meters above sea level provides the necessary balance with cooling nights. The region is the original home of the Voskehat grape variety. The Karasi Voskehat is made with grapes grown on vine that are approximately 100 years old, which are hand harvested and then fermented in traditional 800-1200L Karas. Malolactic conversion is avoided, and the wine ages for about 6 months in 500 liter oak barrels of local origin. This wine is bottled unfiltered, only racked through natural sedimentation.

Tasting Notes: Delicate aromas of citrus and flowers are balanced by notes of toasty oak on the nose. The palate is fuller bodied yet energetic, with layered flavors of citrus and pear. Creamy in texture, finishing with elegant lift.

2020 Domaine Lavantureux Vaudesir, Chablis Grand Cru

With a sharp eye, natural instinct, and solid Burgundian pragmatism, Roland Lavantureux made a name for himself crafting no-nonsense Chablis that has come to be one of the most reliable of the old reliables here at Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant. Upon his completion of wine school in Beaune, Roland founded the domaine in 1978 in the town of Lignorelles, about four miles northwest of Chablis. Today, his two sons have taken over the Domaine: Arnaud is in charge of the vineyards and cellar, while David takes the lead in marketing and sales. In addition to making a stunning Chablis, the Lavantureux family also bottles a mouth-watering Petit Chablis, which, depending on the vintage, can easily rival their more highly pedigreed bottling—only proving the unwavering consistency of the Lavantureux family that has kept our relationship with them so strong for over thirty-five years.

    • Mostly fermented in barrels and a small part in stainless steel
    • 85% of wine is aged in barrels that are 3 to 5 years old and 15% of the wine is aged in new oak
