    Product description

This wine comes from very old vines located in the commune of Gevrey-Chambertin. As is often the case at the estate, the wines are expressed on a spicy frame as well as an imposing but always greedy structure. The wines are marked by the gluttony that the estate instills in them, through sometimes fleshy textures. A blend of several plots of old vines, this wine has an exemplary density that only old vines can give.
In the 1990s, Denis Mortet took over the estate from the hands of his father, Charles, who had succeeded in making a name for it by ceasing to sell to merchants. He then radically changed the structure of the wines, giving them a dark color, the result of a significant woodiness from advanced extractions. The wines, "modern" and pleasant, displayed a sometimes excessive woodiness that even the guard does not manage to melt. His son, Arnaud, took over the estate following the death of his father, influencing the style of the wines towards a finer, better integrated oak, and noticeably more vibrant and fresh wines. Even if the textures remain modern and velvety, the wines, very digestible, are excellent wines.
