From terraced vineyards of about 8 hectares around the village of Lamole, just east of Panzano. This 100% Sangiovese is fermented in concrete vats with indigenous yeasts, then aged in French oak casks for 24 months.
This is the only wine not made from the estate vineyards of Fontodi. Manetti's use of concrete vats, and only using old casks, makes for a more silky and smooth ride. Make this wine a pairing for your marinara sans the meat. Bring in the mushrooms!
