Product description
We can't help ourselves! We're just so excited to have a perfect expression of Mercurey Blanc. Sandwiched in between the Maconnais to the south and the Cotes d'or to the north, the Cotes Chalonnaise area has long been associated with Burgundy value wines.
Faiveley's Mercurey is sourced from 3 pardels in the heart of the appellation. Vines date back as far as 1974 and soils are primarily clay and limestone. Only a tiny portion sees oak, while the majority is in stainless steel. This is fruity, floral, dense, and oh so smooth. Man, we love this juice.
In 1825, Pierre Faiveley founded the firm that now bears the name Domaine Faiveley. At that time, the firm was a classic négociant, buying and selling wine. But from generation to generation, with a strong commitment to the quality of Burgundy’s patrimony, the Faiveley family has purchased vineyards and is today among the largest owners of classified vineyards in the Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune and Côte Chalonnaise with holdings totaling 331 acres, of which 30 acres are grands crus and 67 acres are premiers crus.
