"The first vintage for the Dillon family, who purchased this estate in 1997, the 1998 Château Nenin is a sexy, ripe, fully mature Pomerol that delivers the goods. Made from 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc, it offers lots of chocolatey dark fruits, spice box, and dried herb aromatics, full body, terrific density, and ample density and texture. It’s not going to get any better but is terrific drink." (10/2018) - 92 points, Jeb Dunnuck
A source of exceptionally sensual and glamorous red wines, Pomerol is actually a rather small appellation in an unassuming countryside. It sits on a plateau immediately northeast of the city of Libourne on the right bank of the Dordogne River. Pomerol and St-Émilion are the stars of what is referred to as Right Bank Bordeaux: Merlot-dominant red blends completed by various amounts of Cabernet Franc or Cabernet Sauvignon. While Pomerol has no official classification system, its best wines are some of the world’s most sought after.
